PDLC film pricing: what actually moves the quote

Two projects with identical surface area can differ by a factor of two. Here are the six variables behind the gap.
The first question is always the same: "what is the price per square foot?". It is the one question that cannot be answered honestly without seeing the glazing.
1. Panel count, not surface area
A 6 m² glass wall in one panel costs less than the same area split into six panels. Every panel needs its own cut, alignment, conductive busbars and connection.
2. Zoning
A single zone needs one circuit. Four independent zones need four circuits and a multi-zone controller. Convenience is paid for in wiring.
3. The power route
This is the most variable line item. Power already available next to the frame means a simple connection. Power to be pulled from another floor means the electrical work exceeds the cost of the film.
4. Control type
A wall switch, a remote control and an integration into a building management system are not the same level of complexity — nor of validation.
5. Site access
A ground-floor partition in an empty room has nothing in common with a high-level glazed wall in a trading store. Application time and site protection are part of the quote.
6. Geometry
A rectangle is simple. An angle, a curve, a cut around an existing handle or mullion all take time and increase material waste risk.
Why we publish no price list
A published square-foot price would be wrong in one case out of two. We prefer a visit, a survey, then a detailed quote we can stand behind.
A quote guaranteed after survey beats an estimate contradicted on site.
